Fontana’s installation artworks to be reconstructed in Milan

September 8, 2017

Developed in collaboration with Fondazione Lucio Fontana, the Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan presents “Lucio Fontana: Ambienti/Environments” from September 21, 2017 to February 25, 2018. Focused on Fontana’s pioneering work in installation art, new research into the artist’s archive forms the crux of this exhibition where ten “environments” will be reconstructed in full scale and shown together for the first time. Fontana’s “environments” take on a life of their own through colours and forms that unfold through rooms, walls, corridors and pathways.
“Ambienti/Environments” is focused on Lucio Fontana’s pioneering work in the realm of installation art, with a selection of his seminal Ambienti spaziali—seen together for the first time—that highlights the farsighted, innovative genius of this twentieth-century master.
