Gerhard Richter solo exhibition at Stedelijk Museum

October 1, 2017

Viewed as one of the most influential contemporary artists to date, in his career spanning over five decades, Gerhard Richter challenged the medium of painting, subsequently broadening the concept of painting itself through explorations in cross disciplines including photography and sculpture. A survey exhibition, titled “Gerhard Richter | About Painting,” is set to open on October 21, 2017 at Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst in Ghent, and is dedicated to presenting the artist’s creative trajectory which brought renewal to painting in the latter part of the 20th century. On show until February 18, 2018, the exhibition is mounted in celebration of the artist’s 85th birthday this year.
